The Messages… Art That Speaks

Art is a universal concept; humans need not share verbal language to appreciate and understand art…to interpret opinions, ideas, information and emotion from a visual expression.  Art, in its many shapes and forms, can bridge cultures and drive change, conversation and collaboration.  It transcends language, political, geographical, cultural, and social barriers.

Children Are The Hope is dedicated to bringing Cuban and American students together through an international nature- and crane-based art exchange.  Students in both countries create visual “messages” illustrating their connections to cranes and nature…and the common goal of  caring for both.  By exchanging artwork between countries, students see first-hand how their individual and collective decisions and actions impact the global community.

“Art is a way to express yourself, or say something important that needs to be said.

Having the opportunity to exchange art with Cuba let us have a say.”
